Abstract

A hinged lid type pack for cigarettes or other consumable products is disclosed. The lid (12) of the pack is provided with a locking mechanism comprising a locking tab (115) connected by a tab hinge (119) to a front wall (121) of the pack, an engagement portion (125), located on an inner side of a front wall (121) of the lid (12), for engaging with the locking tab (115), the locking tab (115) has a base adjacent the tab hinge (119), a tip (116) distal to the tab hinge (119), and sides extending between the base and the tip (116); the locking tab (115) and the engagement portion (125) are configured such that the sides of the locking tab (115) are engageable with the engagement portion (125) and prevent a section of the locking tab (115) from being received in the engagement portion (125). The pack may be folded from a blank. FIG. 6
