Abstract
There is disclosed a carbonization apparatus that performs drying, thermal decomposition, and thermal storage of an organic substance in an inside of a single kiln, the apparatus comprising: a rotatable kiln (2) having an inlet port (2in) and an outlet port (2out); a raw material feeding unit configured to introduce an organic substance from the inlet port (2in) into the inside of the kiln (2); and a combustion chamber (3) having the kiln (2) in an internal space (2c) thereof and configured to externally supply heat to the kiln (2); wherein an inner circumferential surface of the kiln ( 2) is provided with a helical blade (la) helically extended along a longitudinal direction of the kiln (2) and one or more of stirring blades (lb) extended inwards; a distance between pitches of the helical blades (la) and an interval between the stirring blades (lb) in the longitudinal direction are greater on an upstream side than on a downstream side; and a protrusion amount of the stirring blade (lb), and a protrusion amount of the helical blade (1a) form the inner circumferential surface of the kiln (2) are smaller on a downstream side than on an upstream side.
