Abstract

This vertical electric vacuum cleaner (1) is provided with a suction port body (2) and a vacuum cleaner main body (3) connected to the suction port body. A dust collection unit (9) and an electric blower (10) are disposed on the vacuum cleaner main body. The dust collection unit is mounted in a detachable fashion to a dust collection unit attachment unit (8) on the lower part of the vacuum cleaner main body, and when mounted, communicates with the suction port body through a first intake path (30) formed between the suction port body and the vacuum cleaner main body. A suction hose (47) provided with a suction tube (49) at the distal end is disposed on the upper part of the vacuum cleaner main body, and the suction hose communicates with the dust collection unit through a second intake path (55). A rod-shaped handle (40), the axis of which is substantially aligned with the axis of the electric blower, is secured on the upper part of the vacuum cleaner main body. (Fig.2)
