Abstract

A vehicle security system (IO) has a driving function locking device ( 12) movable between a locked position for disabling a driving function of a vehicle and an unlocked position. The vehicle security system (l 0) includes a controller (14 ), a remote control ( 16) and a chip card (18). The controller (14) is connected to an electrical power supply of the vehicle and is in communication with a transceiver (36). The remote control (16) and chip card (18) each communicate with the transceiver (36) to lock and unlock the driving function locking device (12) or temporarily disable the driving function locking device (12). (Fig. I)
