Abstract
A method for producing a lubricant base oil that can produce a lubricant base oil having a high viscosity index in high yield is provided. An aspect of the method for producing a lubricant base oil according to the present invention comprises: a first step of subjecting a feedstock to hydrorefining treatment to obtain a material to be treated; and a second step of subjecting the material to be treated to hydroisomerization treatment using a hydroisomerization catalyst, wherein the feedstock contains a petroleum-derived hydrocarbon oil and a synthetic oil synthesized by a Fischer-Tropsch reaction; a content of the petroleum derived hydrocarbon oil in the feedstock is 60 to 90% by volume; and a content of the synthetic oil in the feedstock is 10 to 40% by volume.
