Abstract

Epoxidized natural rubber latex is treated by a method which comprises: (1) adding a salt of a divalent metal to the epoxidized natural rubber latex; (2) heating the latex to coagulate the rubber; and (3) recovering the coagulated rubber. The addition of the divalent metal salt to the latex prior to the heat-induced coagulation of the rubber reduces or eliminates foaming during the heat coagulation and improves the quality of the coagulum obtained .
