Abstract
There is provided beam forming using an antenna array (1). The antenna array (1) is configured to transmit across an angular sector (4). The angular sector (4) is divided into at least two sub-sectors (4a, 4b) by respective port weights being applied to respective physical antenna ports (2) of the antenna array (1). A respective set of virtual antenna ports (3) is determined for each sub-sector (4a, 4b). A first set of reference signals for acquiring channel state information on the set of virtual antenna ports (3) is alternatingly transmitted in each one of the at least two sub-sectors (4a, 4b).
