Abstract

A cleaning sheet I is composed of a liquid retentive layer 4 and an airlaid layer 5 laid on the liquid retentive layer 4. The airlaid layer 5 contains large-diameter fibers 2 with a fineness of 10 to 150 dtex and small-diameter fibers with a fineness of 0.5 to 5 dtex. The airlaid layer 5 has the ends of a plurality of the large-diameter fibers 2 exposed on the surface thereof to provide abrading or scouring capabilities for dirt removal from a surface to be cleaned. The liquid retentive layer 4 also has the ends of a plurality of the large-diameter thermoplastic fibers 2 exposed on its surface opposite to the surface facing the airlaid layer 5. The number of the ends present on the surface of the liquid retentive layer 4 is smaller than that of the ends present on the surface of the airlaid layer 5.
