Abstract

In an electrolytic zinc or zinc alloy coated steel sheet (1), an electrolytic zinc or zinc alloy coating layer (13) includes a rough portion (A) and a smooth portion (B). The rough portion (A) includes a region having an average surface roughness RaA of more than 200 nni and 2000 nm or less, and the smooth portion (B) includes a region having an average surface roughness Ras of more than 5 nm and 200 nm or less. Assuming that a boundary between the rough portion (A) and the smooth portion (B) is present, in cross sections in a hairline orthogonal direction and in a sheet thickness direction, on an imaginary straight line parallel to the hairline orthogonal direction at a height of 1/3 of a maximum height Ry obtained by subtracting a lowest point H o from a highest point H1 of the electrolytic zinc or zinc alloy coating layer (13) in an observation width range of 1 cm along the hairline orthogonal direction, assuming that an area of the rough portion (A) is SA and an area of the smooth portion (B) is SB in the same area unit, an area ratio SB/SA is in a range of 0.6 to 10.0. An average height difference between the rough portion (A) and the smooth portion (B) adjacent to the rough portion (A) is 0.3 ?m to 3.0 ?m.
