Abstract
A waste water treatment method comprising the steps of adding a nitrate and an alkali to waste water, and aerating the waste water so that an oxidation- reduction potential inside a biological treatment tank that biologically treats the waste water is greater than or equal to ?0 mV, and a dissolved oxygen concentration is less than or equal to 1 mg/L. A waste water treatment system that treats waste water, the system comprising a biological treatment tank (20) that biologically treats the waste water, a nit rate addition means (41) that adds a nitrate to the waste water, and an alkali addition means (42) that adds an alkali to the waste water.
