Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of making lightweight concrete containing expanded polystyrene beads and palm oil fuel ash (POFA). The method of making polystyrene lightweight concrete with palm oil fuel ash (POFA) includes the steps of combining cement, fine aggregate (natural sand), water and expanded polystyrene beads having particles size in the range of 2.5 to 3.0 mm. Further, palm oil fuel ash (POFA) in the form of fine ashes was added as an additive material to improve the properties of the lightweight concrete.
