Abstract

A system for forming an enveloped food product (P) according to the present invention comprises: a placement member (43) onto which a flat outer skin material (D) is transferred with an inner material (F) placed on the outer skin material, the placement member (43) having an aperture (44) at a center of the placement member (43); a holding member (63) holding a peripheral portion (DE) of the outer skin material (D) against the placement member (43) so as to have a sealed internal space (63D); a device for increasing an air pressure in the sealed internal space (63D) of the holding member (63) so that a central portion of the outer skin material (D) is lowered into the aperture together with the inner material (F) and subsequently the outer skin material (D) is deformed to a bowl-like configuration; and a shutter unit (47) comprising of a plurality of shutter pieces (45) for gathering the peripheral portion (DE) of the outer skin material (D) so as to envelop the inner material (F).
