Abstract
An air conditioner capable of suitably washing an indoor heat exchanger is provided. An air conditioner (100) includes a refrigerant circuit (Q) in which refrigerant circulates in a refrigerating cycle through a compressor (31), a condenser, an outdoor expansion valve (34), and an evaporator sequentially, and a controller for controlling at least the compressor (31) and the outdoor expansion valve (34). One of the condenser and the evaporator is an outdoor heat exchanger (32), and the other is at least a part of an indoor heat exchanger (12). The controller carries out freezing of the indoor heat exchanger (12), thawing of an upper part of the indoor heat exchanger (12), and thawing of a lower part of the indoor heat exchanger (12) sequentially.
