Abstract

The present invention relates to a system and method for enhanced functional test automation which provides functional test case generation, automation of execution of test and verification of test results by utilizing user defined ontology. In the present invention, test data is retrieved from Requirement repository (104) as test data are translated from plain text to Ontology using Translator component. Further, the automated framework provides for the Decision Support Service (DSS) (118) to assess test results (i.e. Run Rate, Pass Rate, Defects per Use Case Requirements) and provides information on test sufficiency. Summary of test results are published in a dashboard whereby inconsistencies between the rules and the expected results are highlighted. The automated framework of the present invention addresses an end to end aspect to generate, execute and evaluate functional test cases.
