Abstract

The present invention provides a floor component for use in a modular building. The floor component comprises: (i) a main floor surface region (10) having a substantially planar upper surface and a first minimum thickness, and (ii) a wall support region (12) having a second minimum thickness, wherein the second minimum thickness is greater than the first minimum thickness. The thickened wall support region (12) provides improved resistance to deformation of the floor during lifting, transport and installation of a modular building comprising the floor component of the present invention.
