Abstract

Supply power is flexibly adjusted while suppressing a decrease in power efficiency during pumping. A pumped- storage power generation control system (40) controls a pumped-storage power generation facility (1) including a plurality of pumping units (26) performing a pumping operation and a power generation unit (30) performing a power generating operation, and includes a power controller (64) that controls a total value P of a power consumption amount in the pumping operation and a power generation amount in the power generating operation, by controlling operations of the pumping units (26) and the power generation unit (30). When causing the total value P to vary within a predetermined range set in advance, the power controller (64) performs pumping rated control for changing the power generation amount by causing the pumping units (26) to perform the pumping operation by a rated operation, in which opening degrees of valves (32) through which the pumping units (26) pump water are set to a predetermined opening degree, while causing the power generation unit (30) to perform the power generating operation by changing an opening degree of a valve (32) through which the power generation unit (30) allows water to flow down. When causing the total value P to vary outside the predetermined range, the power controller (64) performs pumping unit (26) number control for changing the power consumption amount by starting or stopping the operations of the pumping units (26).
