Abstract

This disclosure describes a ceiling fan for providing wide coverage of air circulation. The ceiling fan comprises a coupling portion (101) for mounting the fan to a ceiling, a rotatable motor unit (102) mounted to the coupling portion (101) having a motor(103) and a control system (104), an upper fan blade assembly connected to the motor unit (102) and formed of a plurality of upper fan blades (105), and a lower fan blade assembly connected to the motor unit (102) at a position lower than the upper fan blade assembly and formed of a plurality of lower fan blades (106). By utilizing a mounting assembly defined by a mounting ring (107) having a plurality of mounting arms (108) radially and outwardly protruding from the mounting ring (107), the upper fan blade assembly and lower fan blade assembly are able to connect to the motor unit (102). Each mounting ring (107) of the fan blade assembly is disposed around the motor (103) and the fan blades (105, 106) are mounted to the mounting arms (108). With both fan blade assemblies being driven by the same motor (103), they rotate along with the motor (103) in the same direction and speed. (The Most Illustrative Drawing: Figure 1)
