Abstract

[Problem] To provide an axle housing that can avoid a problem that the total weight increases, as much as possible, and reduce acoustic vibration caused by a differential gear efficiently and appropriately. [Solution] An axle housing is provided which includes: a housing center unit (1) that accommodates a differential gear; a pair of left and right axle tube units (2) that is integrally or separately linked to both sides of the housing center unit (1), and that extends in a vehicle width direction; and an upper bracket (3) that is mounted on each axle tube unit (2) to couple the axle tube unit (2) to an upper control rod (7A). A portion, on which the upper bracket (3) is mounted, of each axle tube unit (2) forms a protuberance (22) protruding upward more than the other portions of the axle tube unit (2). (Figure 1)
