Abstract
An object of the present invention is to provide a culture method capable of efficiently growing microalgae by using POME discharged from the palm oil production process and a method for efficiently producing valuables with high additional benefits from microalgae. The use of a POME hydrolyzate enables efficient and favorable growth of heterotrophic microalgae which produce ?-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(s) such as DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and an increase of the DHA production amount.
