Abstract
To provide a cosmetic having not only excellent impression from use, e.g., for stickiness and cool feeling, and an excellent antiseptic effect, but also excellent residual properties of an antiseptic component on the skin and long-term storage stability of the antiseptic component. The cosmetic comprises the following components (A) to (D): (A) 0.01% by mass or more and 0.2% by mass or less of isopropylmethylphenol; (B) 0.1% by mass or more and 3% by mass or less of a carboxylic acid or a salt thereof; (C) 0.1% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less of 1,3-butylene glycol; and (D) 0.005% by mass or more and 1% by mass or less of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of from 10 to 13.
