Abstract
The present invention discloses an acidic urea-based fertilizer composition that is capable of reducing the loss of ammonia from urea when applied on soil. Accordingly, the present invention provides an acidic urea-based fertilizer composition suitable for use as a plant nutrient, the fertilizer composition comprising 5 to 25% by weight of urea and 75 to 85% by weight of a mixture of fulvic acid and humic acid. The acidic composition reduces hydrolysis rate of urea, thus reducing the loss of ammonia contained therein when applied in soil.
