Abstract

According to one embodiment, an elevator remote monitoring system includes a line controller (43) configured to, when emergency calls are made separately from cars (21a, 21b) of an elevator (11), connect a phone line of one of the cars (21a, 21b) to an operator workstation (45a) in a monitoring center (15) to activate an in-communication state and hold a phone line of the other car to activate an on-hold state until the in-communication state ends, and a notification controller (44) configured to notify a passenger in the other car phone line of which is put on hold by the line controller (43) that the in-communication state is in progress in the car phone line of which is connected to the operator workstation (45a).
