Abstract

A raw material storage hopper (1) for string-like raw materials includes a hopper main body (5), a raw material inlet section (4) opening at an upper surface of the hopper main body, a discharge screw conveyor (6) provided at a bottom (3) of the hopper main body (5), and a raw material outlet section (7) provided on a conveyance terminal side of the screw conveyor (6), the hopper (1) further including a reverse feed screw conveyor (25) arranged in the hopper main body (5), the reverse feed screw conveyor (25) being configured to convey raw material that is input to the hopper main body (5) in an opposite direction that is opposite to a conveyance direction of the discharge screw conveyor so as to loosen the input raw material in order to prevent entanglement of the raw material to the discharge screw conveyor (6) and prevent bridges of lumps of the raw materials.
