Abstract

[Problem] By enabling to attach a cap to containers having a plurality kinds of diameter of the mouth, troublesome replacement work is eliminated and production efficiency is increased. [Solution] A cap (P1or P2) is held by a plurality of chuck members (41) to rotate and tighten the cap (P1 or P2) on a container. A first abutting portion (46a) is formed on the chuck member (41) to abut on an outer peripheral surface of the first cap (P1) having a relatively small diameter. A second abutting portion (46b) is formed on the chuck member (41) to abut on an outer peripheral surface of the second cap (P2) having a relatively large diameter. A capping head can be operated in the first mode where the first cap (P1) is held by the first abutting portion (46a) to rotate and tighten the first cap (P1) on the container and the second mode where the second cap (P2) is held by the second abutting portion (46b) to rotate and tighten the second cap (P2) on the container. (Fig. 4)
