Abstract

The disclosure relates to a can having a soft sealing element which has a cylindrical wall (12) around the can body (10), an opening (13) at the top end of the cylindrical wall (12), a retaining portion (14) of an annular recess on the inner surface near the top edge of the cylindrical wall (12), and a lid (20) embedded to the opening and having a protruding portion (22). The protruding portion (22) of the lid (20) has a raised portion (23) circularly engaging to a positioning projected portion of the retaining portion, and a lid rim raised edge located at the top edge of the protruding portion (22). The section of the protruding portion (22) located between the raised portion (23) and the lid rim raised edge forms an annular groove (25) to be filled with a soft sealing element which abuts against the annular groove (25) and the inner surface of the cylindrical wall (12) tightly thus to secure the sealing effect. Since the can body (10) and the lid (20) are engaged to each other, both the can body (10) and the lid (20) can be made of, but not limited to, metal materials. When the can body (10) contains liquid, the use of soft sealing element can prevent liquid from leaking out and maintain a good airtight and watertight effect.
