Abstract

Provided is a laser machining apparatus capable of removing spatter while reducing the number of components and costs. A clamp device 10 of the laser welding apparatus 1 nips a workpiece 3 between a lower nipping portion 24 and an upper nipping portion 32 during spot welding. A side end of the upper nipping portion 32 has a predetermined distance D from a welding region 3b of a workpiece 3, and an actuator 40 drives the upper nipping portion 32 from a nipping position shown in FIG. 7 to a retreat position shown in FIG. 12 after the spot welding. At this time, the side end of the upper nipping portion 32 passes near a scraper 26 with a predetermined distance D or less.
