Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of preparing a nanowire composite electrode, characterized by the steps of: pretreating a screen printed electrode with potassium hydroxide (KOH) and washing with deionized water; sonicating silicon nanowires with organosilane to form a homogeneous mixture; adding said homogeneous mixture containing the silicon nanowire and the organosilane onto the pre-treated screen printed electrode and drying said screen printed electrode; washing the electrode with ethyl alcohol followed by baking at a predetermined temperature; adding mercury-ionophore to 2-propanol to form homogenous solution; and drop casting the homogenous solution onto the baked screen printed electrode and allowed to dry at room temperature to form the nanowire composite electrode.
