Abstract
The present invention relates to a floating apparatus (100) for collecting marine waste comprising a main body (120), an inlet (140), a pump unit (160), a filtering unit (180), an outlet (200), a power supply unit (220) and a plurality of sensors (240). In addition, the filtering unit (180) comprises a first filtering unit (180a) and a second filtering unit (180b) for filtering different sizes of marine waste and the pump unit (160) comprises a first pump unit (160a) for pumping water into the floating apparatus (100) via the inlet (140) and a second pump unit (160b) for pumping water from the first filtering unit (180a) into the second filtering unit (180b). Further, the floating apparatus (100) comprises a management platform unit (260) having a controller connected to the plurality of sensors (240) for monitoring and managing operation of the floating apparatus (100) by instructing the floating apparatus (100) to be in an active mode or an idle mode, based on input by the plurality of sensors (240).
