Abstract

A process of producing aerosol-generating material rod segments (126) comprises cutting a sheet (104) of aerosol-generating material longitudinally to produce a plurality of aerosol-generating material strands (112); gathering the strands (112) together to form an aerosol-generating material rod (120) in which each of the plurality of aerosol-generating material strands (112) is substantially non-coiled; and cutting the aerosol-generating material rod (120) into segments (126) to produce said aerosol-generating material rod segments (126). Also disclosed is apparatus for producing aerosol-generating material rod segments (126), and a product comprising an aerosol- generating material rod (120). (Fig. 1)
