Abstract

An electrolyzed water generating apparatus (300) includes: a first electrolysis cell (100); a second electrolysis cell (200); a trunk input flow passage; a cathode-side input flow passage; an anode-side input flow passage; a cathode-side relay flow passage; an anode-side relay flow passage; a trunk bypass flow passage; a cathode-side bypass flow passage; an anode-side bypass flow passage; and a flow passage switching valve (30). The first electrolysis cell (100) includes: a first cathode chamber; a first anode chamber; and a cation exchange membrane (10) partitioning between the first cathode chamber and the first anode chamber. The second electrolysis cell (200) includes: a second cathode chamber; a second anode chamber; and a neutral diaphragm that partitions between the second cathode chamber and the second anode chamber and allows cations and anions to pass through the neutral diaphragm. The flow passage switching valve (30) is switched to a first state where the flow passage switching valve (30) causes the flowing water to pass through the first cathode chamber and the first anode chamber then to pass through the second cathode chamber and the second anode chamber, or the flow passage switching valve (30) is switched to a second state where the flow passage switching valve (30) causes the flowing water to pass through the second cathode chamber and the second anode chamber without causing the flowing water to pass through the first cathode chamber or the first anode chamber.
