Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus (100) and method for extending formwork for casting concrete. In particular, this apparatus (100) and method is suitable for, but not limited to, extending the side formwork used for precasting concrete components such as floor slabs or walls. The apparatus (100) for extending a portion of a formwork comprises a frame (102) attachable to the formwork, and a securing means (104) operable to secure the frame (102) at a requisite position, where in the requisite position, a first part of the frame (102) extends the portion of the formwork along an axis of the formwork by a required length and a second part of the frame (102) is secured to the portion of the formwork by the securing means (104).
