Abstract
Provided are an air preheating device (15) for a boiler (1) and a boiler operation method capable of reducing an acid dew point corrosion of an air preheater without causing a significant decline in boiler efficiency or a significant increase in cost of parts. An air preheating device (15) for a boiler (1) includes a plurality of stages of air preheaters (151, 152, 153) arranged along a flow direction of an exhaust gas; and a bypass passage (158d) that branches a part of combustion air upstream of an air passage (158a, 158b, 158c) of an air preheater of any one of the plurality of stages of air preheaters (151, 152, 153), and diverts the part of combustion air to an upstream of an air passage of an air preheater of another stage. Further, a boiler operation method is a method for changing an opening degree of a flow rate adjustment unit (159) depending on a working rate of a boiler (1), in a boiler (1) including a flow rate adjustment unit (159) capable of changing an opening degree of a bypass passage (58d).
