Abstract
Presently disclosed in an apparatus(100) for forming a perforated tube(102). The apparatus(100) includes a main support(104) and a die assembly(106). The die assembly(106) is mounted to the main support(104) and includes two opposed die members(108,230,110,232), the two opposed die members(108,230,110,232) including a first die member(108,230) and a second die member(110, 232), the first die member(108,230) having an axis and being configured to be at least partially inserted into a tube(102). The apparatus(100) is operable to perform a repetitive punching operation, by bringing the two opposed die members(108,230,110,232) together, to punch at least one perforation in the tube(102), and subsequently moving the two die members(108,230,110,232) apart. The apparatus(100) further includes a rotation assembly(112) comprising a rotation member(114) rotationally mounted to the main support(104), the rotation member(114) rotating the tube(102), by a predetermined amount, between successive punching operations to punch a predetermined pattern of perforations in the tube(102).
