Abstract

A steering mechanism portion support structure (A1, A2) includes, a pillar-to-pillar member (10) extending in a vehicle width direction, a side bracket (20) disposed at an end in the vehicle width direction (W) of the pillar-to-pillar member and connected to a vehicle body, a steering bracket (40) supporting a steering mechanism portion, and a reinforcing bracket (50) having an opening portion (51) which is joined to the pillar-to-pillar member so as to form a closed cross sectional shape, wherein the reinforcing bracket is joined to the steering bracket and to the side bracket, and extends in the vehicle width direction so as to serve as a bridge between the steering bracket and the side bracket.
