Abstract
The present invention relates to an impact absorbing assembly for attenuating a shockwave impact in a vehicle. Conventionally, development of blast mats or panels focuses on materials used and less on the structural design which may result in disintegration of the structure when hit with a blast. The present invention overcomes this problem by providing a shock absorbing panel assembly 1 comprising a layer of ovoid shaped structures 100, wherein the layer of ovoid shaped structures 100 comprising an ovoid shaped structure 110 having a symmetrical side 112, a first asymmetrical side 114 and a second asymmetrical side 116; a first layer of sheet 200 disposed on the first asymmetrical side 114 of the ovoid shaped structures 110; and a second layer of sheet 300 disposed on the second asymmetrical side 116 of the ovoid shaped structures 110. (Figure 1)
