Abstract

A lead-acid battery (100) includes a positive electrode plate (210) having a current collector (212) and a positive electrode material (216) supported by the current collector (212), and a negative electrode plate (220). A total pore volume per unit mass of the positive electrode material (216) is 0.167 cm/g or less. The positive electrode material (216) contains a fiber, and an average specific surface area of the fibers measured by the BET method using krypton gas as an adsorption gas is 0.25 m/g or more.
