Abstract

The present invention discloses a digital rights management (DRM) method of media content, a DRM client (100), a DRM server side (200), a terminal device (1) and a DRM server (2). The digital rights management (DRM) method comprises: by the DRM client (100), receiving an invoking request of a media application and acquiring a unique identifier of media content to be played from the invoking request; sending a DRM authorization request to the DRM server side (200) so as to acquire a content authorization execution unit (104), wherein the DRM authorization request contains an identifier of the media content and basic information of the DRM client (100); and running the content authorization execution unit (104) in a DRM client (100) running environment so as to achieve the function of DRM authorization. By using the technical solution of the present invention, flexible protection may be provided for the media content, thereby improving the security degree of the media content.
