Abstract

A solid fuel burner (1) characterized by being equipped with: a fuel nozzle (9) for spraying into a furnace (13), through an opening in a straight pipe section (2), a fluid mixture which contains a solid fuel and a gas for transporting the solid fuel and which is supplied to a curved pipe section (5); a swirl unit (21) having a first swirl device (23) for imparting a swirl to the fluid mixture, a second swirl device (24) for imparting a swirl to the fluid mixture in a direction opposite to the direction of the swirl imparted by the first swirl device (23), and a shaft (22) connecting the first swirl device (23) and the second swirl device (24); and support bodies (26) connecting the swirl unit (21) and the inner surface of the fuel nozzle (9) and supporting the swirl unit (21) in the fuel nozzle (9). Thus, it is possible to provide a solid fuel burner having excellent maintainability and also having excellent ignitability and flame stability even during a low load with a low fuel concentration.
