Abstract

Provided are a nonwoven fabric (10) with good absorbability and wash durability and a production method thereof. The nonwoven fabric includes a plurality of fiber bundles in each of upper, central and bottom layer portions of the nonwoven fabric, each of the fiber bundles contains a plurality of single fibers bound by the binder and unified; the upper, central and bottom layer portions are determined as equally divided three portions in the thickness direction of a randomly selected cross-sectional plane in the binder-adhered region; the nonwoven fabric satisfies formulae: Nu/Nc > 1.10 and Nb/Nc > 1.10 in which Nu, Nc, and Nb represents the number of fibers in the bundles in the upper, central, and bottom layer portions, respectively.
