Abstract

Provided is a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film in which at least one surface thereof has a maximum protrusion height less than 20 nm and which, when the number of protrusions each having a height of 1 nm or larger but less than 2 nm is expressed by A (per mm2) and the number of protrusions each having a height of 3 nm or larger but less than 20 nm is expressed by B (per mm2), has a B/A of 0.001-5. The biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film has satisfactory transparency, smoothness, and slipperiness and has improved scratch resistance during film formation/processing steps.
