Abstract
The present invention relates to a corrosion inhibitor composition comprising a first corrosion inhibitor base comprising a condensate of a fatty hydrazide and a carboxylic acid in a mole ratio of 1 : 1 2, a second corrosion inhibitor base comprising a condensate of a fatty hydrazide and a dicarboxylic acid in a mole ratio of 1 3 : 1 and an organic solvent and an acidic corrosion inhibitor derived from the corrosion inhibitor composition aforementioned. The present invention also relates to a method of using the acidic corrosion inhibitor for inhibiting corrosion of metals comprising a step of contacting a surface of the metal with the acidic corrosion inhibitor at a temperature ranging from 25 to 100 such that the acidic corrosion inhibitor is capable of reducing a corrosion rate of the metals in the acid solution by at least about 90%.
