Abstract
The electronic timepiece comprises an oscillator circuit for generating a high-frequency basic signal, as well as a multistage frequency divider circuit (F1 - Fk+n), at least one of the divider circuit stages serving the purpose of generating a time signal derived from the basic signal. In this case, a phase-shifting circuit (6) is provided which is connected in series with the stages of the divider circuit (F1 - Fk+n) between two stages (F2 - Fj). Furthermore, a phase control selection circuit (7) is provided which is connected to at least one of the divider circuit stages which is connected downstream of the stage (Fj) downstream of the phase-shifting circuit (6) for the purpose of generating a control frequency signal in order to feed a phase control signal to the phase-shifting circuit (6). In this case, the phase-shifting circuit (6) can be operated optionally both as an advancing circuit and as a time-delay circuit in such a way that a frequency signal which is advanced or delayed in phase by at least 180 DEG appears at the driven divider circuit stage in each period of the phase control signal of the phase control selection circuit (7). This permits regulation of the timepiece within a large range of deviations of the fundamental frequency of the quartz crystal vibrator. <IMAGE>
