Abstract
0.05-20 mole % SiO2 and 0.05-10 mole % total Bi2O3, CoO, MnO, BaO, SrO and/or PbO and pref. 0.1-3.0 mol % Sb2O3, Cr2O3 and/or NiO are included in a sintered body having ZnO are major constit. for a bulk-type voltage dependent resistor. Electrodes are provided contacting the body. The resistors, esp. those contg. the third additive(s) have high n and C values, high stability w.r.t. temp humidity and load and high resistance to surge current.
