Abstract
New bi- and tricyclic pyridine derivs are of formula (I) and acid addn. salts. In the formula R1, R2, and R6 are H, CF3, or alkyl, aralkyl or aryl opt. substd. by alkyl, alkoxy, NO2 or CF3, or R1+R2 can be CH2(CH2)nCH2 opt. substd. by >=1 R7 n= 1-3, R7 is H or >=1 alkyl, aralkyl or aryl gps. opt. substd. by alkyl, alkoxy, NO2 or CF3, m= 1-3, R4 is alkyl. (I) are anti-ulcer agents. A typical cpd. is N, 3-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline-8-thiocarboxamide. In an example this is prepd. from 3-methyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline and MeNCS.
