Plant tunnel.

The invention relates to a plant tunnel which can be used either for the garden for weather-resistant cultivation of young plants or as a cover for a commercially available balcony planter.

Tunnel-shaped covers are already known, in which a transparent plastic film is applied to a supporting frame consisting of U-brackets protruded into the earth, thereby achieving weather protection and an accumulation of heat for the young plants underneath.

However, these known covers have several drawbacks:

Firstly, the plastic film can be attached to the brackets only under difficult conditions, so that the tunnel is damaged quickly under wind and snow pressure.

On the other hand, the tunnel which has been built up can only be transferred to another installation location which is also in the vicinity by complete disassembly.

In another known embodiment, a gutter-shaped part formed of transparent plastic plates is used, which is placed in a simple manner with the curvature upwards on the earth.

Although greater stability has been achieved here, in particular the transport of the difficult-to-handle part is expensive and a necessary aeration is difficult.

The object of the invention is to avoid the drawbacks of the known constructions and to provide a universally usable plant tunnel, which can be transported flat, can be set up easily and is extremely stable, and which is used for the necessary aeration or for adaptation in the width can be adjusted in the width direction to the various possible widths of the balcony boxes within wide limits.

The blank shown in Figure 1 is a blank 4 of a transparent plastic sheet, preferably a so-called double-pot sheet, two plastic sheets being connected by corresponding transverse legs and thereby providing an extremely heat-insulating unit through the air spaces. The folding lines pressed into the plastic sheet are indicated by a dotted line in Figure 1.

In the plant tunnel shown in figure 2, 1 always indicates a head part, each of which is connected with a corresponding counter plate 3 with a detachable screw connection 2. Between the head part 1 and the counter plate 3, the blank 4 deformed around the folding lines according to figure 1 is clamped . By loosening the screw connection, the plant tunnel can now be adjusted in a simple manner, if desired, wider or narrower or for the necessary aeration or, however, for adjusting in width direction. Subsequently, by tightening the screw connection 2, a clamping of the blank 4 and thus a certain fixing thereof is achieved. The protrusions 30 formed on the head parts 1 allow simple anchoring of the plant tunnel by insertion into the garden soil.

In the plant tunnel shown in Figures 3 and 4 corresponding slots are formed in the blank 4 according to Figure 1, on the circumference of which the screw shaft of the screw connection 2 moves when the tunnel is opened or closed. In this embodiment, head parts 1a are necessary, onto which the correspondingly deformed blank 4 is clamped by the screw connection 2 with large head.
