Description
Smøremiddel for stålwire.
Stålwire som den brukes i løftekraner, for elevatorhus og på skip er sammensatt av flere ståltråder som er anordnet i skrue-form rundt en kjerne som i seg selv kan bestå av stålwire eller hamp eller lignende materialer. Slik wire må kunne bære ytterst tung last. Strekk- og bøyningspåkjen-ningene når wiren er belastet forårsaker et sterkt trykk fra de ytre tråder på de deler av wiren som ligger nærmere dens akse såvel som bevegelse i forhold til hver-andre av forskjellige av wirens eller kabe-lens deler. Dessuten utsettes kablene eller wiren ofte for korroderende innvirkning, særlig til sjøs. Den kombinerte virkning av tunge belastninger, friksjon mellom de en-kelte tråder og korrosjonen kan beskadige wiren alvorlig i løpet av kortere tidsrom.
Midler som foruten å smøre kabelen eller wiren, også minsker korrosjonen, er alminnelig brukt. Slike smøremidler må tilfredsstille mange krav. Således må deres smørende virkning muliggjøre at de forskjellige tråder i wiren glir lett på hver-andre så at wiren blir bøyelig og ikke utsettes for slitasje i overdreven grad. Denne smørende virkning må opprettholdes under meget tunge belastninger og dessuten ved lav temperatur. På den annen side bør smøremidlene lett kunne trenge inn i wiren. Hva angår den korrosjonshindrende virkning, er den overtrekning av metallet som kan oppnåes med de fleste fettholdige eller oljeholdige materialer utilstrekkelig. Det er nemlig nødvendig at smøremidlet trenger ned til metalloverflaten selv om denne er fuktig, og at vanndråper som hefter ved metalloverflaten ikke blir til-bake.
De smøremidler for wire og kabler som nå er på markedet er aktive bare i et be-grenset tidsrom og må i alminnelighet på-føres påny etter bare to måneder. Dessuten har disse smøremidler ofte mørk farge og gir kabelen et utiltalende utseende.
Ved hjel pav foreliggende oppfinnelse skaffes der et materiale som i enhver en-seende er tilfedsstillende som smøremiddel for wire eller kabler og utgjør en betydelig forbedring i sammenligning med de smøre-midler for dette formål som er på markedet.
De karakteristiske hovedtrekk ved smøremidlet ifølge oppfinnelsen er at det består av 25—35 vektprosent petrolatum, 25—35 vektprosent lanolin, 5—10 vektprosent alkalimetall-naftasulfonat, 25—30 vektprosent bensin og eventuelt opptil 5 vektprosent av en acyklisk alifatisk alkohol med fra 4 til 8 kullstoffatomer i molekylet, f. eks. diacetonalkohol.
Den anvendte bensin er fortrinnsvis en bensin av hvilken minst 60 vektprosent koker mellom 150 og 200° C.
Et eksempel på et smøremiddel ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse er en blanding av 30,6 vektprosent petrolatum, 30,6 vektprosent lanolin, 8,8 vektprosent natriumnaf-tasulfonater (molekylvekt 400—450), 2,0 vektprosent diacetonalkohol, 23 vektprosent white spirit (kokepunktsområde 150— 200° C) og 5 vektsprosent bensin (kokepunktsområde 100—140° C).
Dette produkt ble anvendt som smøre-middel for wire under ytterst strenge be-lastningsbetingelser og ved temperaturer som varierer fra —20° C til + 25° C, samt både i sne, regn og solskinn. Blandingen kunne meget lett påføres wiren og hadde
en utmerket gjennomtrengningsevne. I
seks måneder viste den seg å være i høy
grad tilfredsstillende både som smøremid-del og med hensyn til kor ros jonshindr ende
egenskaper, uten at det var nødvendig å
behandle wiren påny. Også fargen forble
meget tilfredsstillende. I
Claims (2)
1. Smøremiddel for stålwire, karakterisert ved at det består av 25—35 vektprosent petrolatum, fra 25 til 35 vektprosent
lanolin, fra 5 til 10 vektprosent alkalimetall-naftasulfonat, fra 25 til 30 vektprosent bensin og eventuelt opptil 5 vektprosent av en acyklisk alifatisk alkohol med fra 4 til 8 kullstoffatomer i molekylet, f. eks. diacetonalkohol.
2. Smøremiddel ifølge påstand 1, karakterisert ved at minst 60 vektprosent av bensinbestanddelen koker mellom 150 og 200° C.
