Det er også anordnet en støttering på pakningsringen(7) som vil, når trykket stiger over ventilen og derigjennom forskyver ventillegemet(3) mot seteringen , danne enda en tetning. På oppstrømssiden er det et enklere system hvor leppen på pakningsringen(9) enkelt kan klatre over kanten på seteringen(S) for å komme i lukkeposisjon. Men for denne siden vil når trykkforskjellen over ventillegemet.stiger, pakningsringen fjerne seg fra seteringen.Leppen på pakninsringen vil ha den nødvendige forrspenning og elastisitet til å kunne trykke mot seteringen(S) og derigjennom tette.
