Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte for synkronisering av base- stasjoner, og et celledelt radiosystem som i hver celle omfatter minst en basestasjon (204, 206) og et antall terminaler (214, 216). Basestasjonene sender et referansesignal, og terminalene kan kommunisere samtidig med en eller flere basestasjoner og samtidig motta referansesignalet fra flere base- stasjoner enn en. For å synkronisere basestasjonen lett, måler terminalen tidsforskjellen mellom et referansesignal som sendes av en basestasjon som ikke kommuniserer med terminalen, og ett eller flere referansesignaler som sendes fra basestasjoner som kommuniserer med terminalen. Terminalen rapporterer den målte forskjellen til den ene eller de flere basestasjonene som kommuniserer med terminalen. Den ene eller de flere basestasjonene er inn- rettet for å justere, på grunnlag av den målte tidsforskjellen, tidsstyringen av signalene de har sendt til terminalen, i forhold til hverandre.
