Abstract

Hver flotasjonsenhet (11) er forbundet med overløpsoppsam- lingsinnretningen (1) ved hjelp av tilhørende bæreanordnin- ger, f.eks. en stiv bærearm (12), idet hver arm er dreibart festet til oppsamlingsinnretningen (1) ved (13).An overflow collector (1) for removing a liquid liquid ("first liquid" exemplified in this summary by means of liquid oil) from the surface of another higher density liquid ("second wash" exemplified in this summary by water), comprising: i) an outer tank (2) whose edge (3) is adapted to act as a first overflow to separate the surface of the mass of the second liquid and drop into the tank (2) liquid oil along with a carrier layer of water ; ii) an inner bowl (4) located inside the outer tank (2) with its edge (5) spaced from the first overflow edge (3) and adapted to act as a second overflow to separate from an underlying body of water in the outer tank ( 2) and dropping into the inner bowl (4) liquid oil along with a carrier layer of water; iii) opening devices (6) located in the lower part of the inner bowl (4), which devices communicate with the interior of the outer tank (2); iv) opening devices (10) communicating between the inside and outside of the outer tank (2). Buoyancy support for the overflow collection device (1) during use is provided by a plurality of out-of-position flotation units exemplified by the flotation unit (11) in the drawing accompanying this summary. Each flotation unit (11) is connected to the overflow collection device (1) by means of associated carriers, e.g. a rigid support arm (12), each arm being pivotally attached to the collection device (1) at (13).
