Abstract

Basisbåndoverføring mellom en toppenhet som utgjør en utvidelsesinnretning (106) og en uteenhet som utgjør en kringkastingsinnretning (104), idet begge enheter hører til en terminal (100, 100') for et trådløst storbynett. Terminalen mottar, via toppenheten, data- pakker fra et datamaskinnett og sender, via uteenheten, tilsvarende datapakker, ved hjelp av en sender/mottaker (246) for trådløs overføring via en kommunikasjonsvei (102). Mellom enhetene (104 og 106) kan det være lagt en kabel (108, 110, 112, 114), og denne kan inneholde en eller flere snodde ledningspar, for eksem- pel i henhold til standardens Category 5. Uteenheten (104) har gjerne en mikrobølgeantenne (508) tilkoplet sender/mottakeren (246), idet denne er en mikrobølge- modul med et omsluttende hus.
